What paperwork do I need to get married in Greece?
A passport.
A valid residence permit (if applicable)
An original or certified copy of the applicant’s birth certificate, along with an official translation into Greek.
If either has been married before, a death certificate or final divorce decree, along with an official translation into Greek.
What’s considered a small wedding in Santorini?
A small wedding in Santorini includes 15 people or under, a medium wedding has a guest list of anywhere from 30 to 50 guests, and a large wedding has over 60 guests attendees.
How long do you have to be in Santorini before getting married?
We recommend to the couples to be in the island at least 3 days prior to the wedding, as they all have a pre-wedding meeting with their planners to discuss all the wedding details.
Civil marriage validity?
To validate the marriage, the couple must declare the wedding at the registry office of Thira Community within 4 days of the wedding day.
Language of the ceremony?
Civil ceremony is conducted in Greek or English, Catholic Church Ceremony is conducted in Greek or French and Orthodox Church Ceremony is conducted in Greek. We are happy to provide interpretation services if required at an extra cost.
